The left-wing Democrats are one of the core parties in the opposition bloc seeking to replace Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the elections, set for October 27.
Likud’s Constitution Committee backed sweeping changes granting Netanyahu eight reserved list slots and authority to replace primaries with a wartime selection committee.
Ronen, who joined The Democrats Party in February, is a leader of the Brothers and Sisters in Arms organization, having participated in protests against the government’s judicial reform.
"Javier [Milei], you are a real friend, a great friend. We support you, we support Argentina, in so many ways, including tomorrow," said Prime Minister Netanyahu in a message shared on X.
The attorney-general cited concerns identified in High Court rulings that a government operating during an election period may prioritize “narrow party interests” over the public interest.
The announcement, made by incoming Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriell, said that Colombia aims to restore the "historic ties with Israel," following the government of Gustavo Petro.
"The doubling of this important road will create a completely different level of safety, security, and quality of life," said Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich in a statement announcing the project.
Justice Grosskopf said the petitions raised “weighty claims” regarding both the way the law was enacted and certain arrangements it established or abolished.
“Hundreds of thousands of reservists who see what is happening feel as though they have been slapped in the face. It cannot be that this exacts no political price. What, is everyone blind?” he said.
A new poll found 49% would back the anti-Netanyahu bloc, compared with 36% for Netanyahu’s bloc, while 12% remain undecided and 3% support neither camp.
The prime minister’s wife, Sara Netanyahu, requested a security detail for the rest of her life. Yaron Blum argued that the request did not reflect reality.
