Dr. Miriam Adelson, the wife of hotel and casino tycoon Sheldon Adelson, will

The gift brings the total amount of donations from the wealthy

The Adelsons are friends of the former speaker of the house and
have helped bankroll his political campaigns in the past.
Last month,

Birthright, and expressed support for Gingrich for arguing that Palestinians
were not a people during in an interview on Jewish TV.
“Read the history
of those who call themselves Palestinians, and you will hear why Gingrich said
recently that the Palestinians are an invented people,” Adelson said. “There are
a number of Palestinians who will recognize the truth of this
statement.”
Adelson, who also owns
Israel Hayom, is deeply involved in
Israeli politics and is known for his staunch support of Prime Minister Binyamin
Netanyahu.
The Boston-born billionaire also donates millions each year to
Jewish and Israeli causes. Last December he gave $5m. to Birthright. That same
