A parachute is something you use to slow your descent after jumping from someplace high. Nobody would parachute over these mountains. The equipment is pictured here is a paraglider. Gliders glide. They use thermal currents to ascend. They climb thousands of feet and travel across tens, and sometimes a couple hundred miles. This guy was paragliding.
