In what is proving to be a piece of marketing genius, the new iPhone has a built-in toilet seat that can be extended from the phone with the click of a button.
Initially laughed off by tech insiders as a frivolous joke that had cost Apple more than $1 trillion in R & D, it is turning out to be the next big thing, with many other smartphones copying the trend.
Samsung, maker of a rival phone, was stunned by first quarter results. “Our phone now has 1 terabyte in memory, new 4G technology, and we are giving it away for $1, but everyone wants this toilet seat,” complained marketing officer Gerry Gastro.
One consumer explained the appeal “I don’t have to worry now about germs on public toilets, I can just whip out my phone and take a squat where I like.” New editions of the phone will include a translucent portable bathroom that can be projected from the phone for privacy.
