Norway: Court extends remand of 3 terror suspects

Oslo district court ruled Friday that police can detain three suspects for another month while the investigation continues into an alleged plot to attack the US or Israeli embassies in the Norwegian capital. A fourth suspect, a 28-year-old Norwegian of Turkish origin, was released Tuesday when an appeals court found insufficient grounds to continue holding him on suspicion of plotting terror. The men were arrested in September on suspicion of firing gunshots at Norway's main Jewish synagogue September 17. No one was hurt in the attack, in which about a dozen shots were fired at the building before dawn.
