A heavily armed suspect was arrested in Los Angeles on Sunday after he was discovered with assault weapons, explosives, and a camouflage outfit, Los Angeles Times reported.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garceti said that the Santa Monica police department made the arrested after the suspect was turned in by someone from his neighborhood.
Reports indicate that the suspect was headed towards the Los Angeles Pride Festival.
Authorities say that the planned attack was not related to the Orlando attack.
The suspect's car had Indiana license plates.
The Los Angeles Pride Parade will continue on as planned. A moment of silence will be held in honor of the victims from the Orlando shooting, which left 50 dead and at least 53 injured.
Sunday's shooting was the worst mass shooting in US history which authorities described as a possible act of terrorism.
