A woman stabbed a man in his shoulder before being subdued by Israeli security forces.

A 31-year-old man was stabbed and lightly wounded by a Palestinian in Jerusalem on Saturday.The assailant, a 29-year-old mother of five who has Israeli residency and lives in the Sur Baher neighborhood, approached the victim near the Damascus Gate light rail station, on Sultan Suleiman Street, and stabbed him in the shoulder. Medics described his injuries as light.Before the attack, the assailant tried to stab another man, but failed.Police who were nearby apprehended the terrorist and took her in for questioning. Senior Magen David Adom medic Yosef Kalman, who treated the victim, described the scene: “When we arrived near the bus parking lot at the end of Hanevi’im Street near Sultan Suleiman Street, we saw a 31-year-old man with a stab wound in his arm; a policeman was giving him first aid. We treated the man and evacuated him to the hospital in mild condition.”The wounded man was taken to Hadassah-University Medical Center on Mount Scopus for treatment.An initial police investigation indicates that the assailant came with an intention the carry out an attack. After the attack police search her home and confiscated a computer and documents. Local media reported that the suspect had been involved in an argument with her husband.A police statement following that attack said that heightened security measures continues in both west and east Jerusalem in order to prevent attacks.
