President Reuven Rivlin found time during his visit to the Jewish Federations General Assembly in Los Angeles to say hello to the most famous Israeli on earth: Gal Gadot.
After his speech at the GA on Monday, Rivlin stopped by the LA premiere of Justice League, the film featuring Gadot as Wonder Woman that will be released worldwide this week.
According to the President’s Office, Rivlin apologized to Gadot for missing the premiere, but stopped by the red carpet reception to see the actress herself.
“We have known you and loved you since you appeared in the TV series Asfur eight years ago,” Rivlin told Gadot. “Even then we knew you’d be great. I am so proud and happy to meet you, a real and beloved ambassador for the State of Israel, who has succeeded in representing us in the worldwide-film industry, with Israeli values and an Israeli smile.”
Gadot told Rivlin that a hug from him, even in another country, made her feel at home.

In a video released of their short meeting, Gadot seemed very happy and moved to see the president.
She gave him a warm hug, and apologized for not having more time to spend with him.
She also introduced him to her husband, Jaron Varsano. Rivlin told him that he and his wife always knew she would end up as a famous actress.
Justice League, the third film in which Gadot portrays Wonder Woman, opens in theaters worldwide on Friday.
