Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei alleged the impending demise of the West was rooted in "the devilish sexual rules" that reign in its society, the Iranian Fars News Agency quoted the leader as saying on the threshold of Iranian Women's Day.
Khamenei said that the exploitative view and objective use of women in the West stood as the leading factor of "oppression and cruelty toward women".
"The move that the West's materialistic civilization has done towards women is a big and unforgiveable sin, the consequences of which are absolutely irreparable," Fars quoted Khamenei as saying during an address to a large crowd of women gathered in Tehran for the day commemorating the birth of Fatima, the daughter of Islamic prophet Muhammad.
According to the report, Khamenei said that the collapse of the West was already underway, and the "improper view of women" borne from exploitation, undermined Western family structure and increased "evil consequences" including trafficking of women, consummated relations out of wedlock and illegitimate births.
"In the wrong equation that the West has gradually induced and inspired in the different societies, the human being is divided into two parts; Men who are considered as beneficiaries and women who are exploited and used," Khamenei was quoted as saying in the report.
Khamenei's remarks reflected previous comments voiced by the leader condemning western countries of their "instrumental use of women," which prompted differing family problems than those found in the Islamic Republic.
The Fars report alleged that women in the US and Europe face daily violations to their human rights in the form of violence.
The report listed forced marriage and abortion and sterilization without consent as forms of violence against woman that remain widely unrecorded.
