In a meeting with editors and journalists, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi reportedly appeared to praise former president Anwar Sadat for “thinking outside of the box” by making peace with Israel.

Sisi described Sadat as "thinking outside of the box” when he went to make peace with Israel, the Egyptian website Soutalomma reported on Friday.

Sisi also praised former president Gamal Abdel Nasser for advancing the country through his national projects such as his agrarian reform and nationalizing the Suez Canal.

Meanwhile, violence continued in Sinai on Sunday, with at least three people killed during security operations in north Sinai, Ali Azazi, the deputy security director of North Sinai told the Aswat Masriya website.

Azazi said security forces attacked a house, killing two terrorists and a 17 year-old girl.

The army is trying to put out an Islamist insurgency there. The security forces were operating in Al-Arish after they received intelligence that terrorists were hiding in the area.

"A fire exchange occurred between the security forces and gunmen, leaving three central security officers wounded," a security source said.

Aswat Masriya also reported that residents in south Rafah, near the border with the Gaza Strip, found two decapitated bodies of youths early Sunday that had disappeared on Saturday.

Security forces suspect “extremist elements” are behind the gruesome attack. On Friday, another beheaded body was found, and ten days ago, four other decapitated bodies were found in Sinai.

The al-Qaida affiliated Sinai-based Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, which reportedly pledged allegiance to the Islamic State, released a video on Thursday claiming responsibility for an execution, accusing the victims of collaborating with Israel, said the report.
