A 19-year-old girl from performing her military service at the Zvulon police station in Kiryat Haim was reprimanded by her commanders this week, after pictures of her posing in a pink bikini and in lingerie were published on a local news portal.
The photo gallery posted on www.krayot.com last week included the caption “in her day to day life Cohen works as a patrol officer at the Zvulon station in Kiryat Haim – wouldn't you want her to arrest you?”
In the pictures – which were also featured on the cover of the portal's magazine “hadashot hakrayot” (“Krayot news”), Cohen is not wearing her police uniform, nor much else.
Israel police said in a response on Monday that "this is an officer performing her national service in the police who acted contrary to regulations. After her officers became aware of the publication of the pictures, disciplinary actions were taken and the officer apologized for the incident.”
The incident came less than a week after a video emerged of a group of female IDF recruits dancing in provocatively in underwear. The video emerged about a week after pictures of a group of female recruits posing in their underwear and topless went viral and were picked up by the international press.
