Rabin Square will glow with pride every night this week in the lead up to Tel Aviv's 16th annual Pride Parade. Rainbow-colored LED light bulbs now decorate the city's municipality building, in light of Gay Pride Month.

Celebrations will be held this year under the banner, "Tel Aviv marches for equality."

And march, it will.

On June 13, starting at 10:00 a.m at Gan Meir, a record-breaking number of people -- estimates are that 130,000 people will attend Gay Pride events in Tel Aviv this month -- will parade through major streets across the city towards the beachfront Charles Clore Park, in solidarity with the LGBT movement.

Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai, will kick off the annual parade on Friday, June 13. Israeli model-turned-Hollywood-actress, Moran Atias, will host the signature party - which will include the 2014 Tolerance Award - followed by other performances by famous Israeli artists.

Famed transsexual Dana International, who has been absent from the parade in recent years, will perform the official song of the Israeli LGBT movement, "Children are happiness," as the event's guest of honor.

The municipality building will emit rainbow colors every night between 8:00 p.m. and 11 p.m. - up until Friday.

The Tel Aviv LGBT International Film Festival will also take place this month, along with a host of cultural events, lectures, exhibitions, festivals and other special attractions.

Sexual "liberation," however, comes with a price: The estimated cost of the celebrations is a whopping NIS 2 million.
