The Austin, Texas community was asked to submit suggestions for a new name for the local Robert E. Lee Elementary School earlier this week. According to reports by the Independent, both Adolf Hitler and Donald Trump have made the list of nominees.
According to the report, the community decided to change the name of the primary school due to Robert E. Lee's history as a Confederate general. The renaming initiative came following a racially-motivated school shooting that took place in South Carolina in 2015 in which a gunman shot and killed two 8-year-old students, and wounded seven other students, a teacher and a gym coach.
With eight votes, "The Adolf Hitler School for Friendship and Tolerance" is currently ranked as number seven on the list of name suggestions, while the name of Republican presidential candidate Donald J. Trump tops the nomination list with 45 votes.
Other suggestions on the list include meaningful names such as "Forgetting the Past Dooms You to Repeat It Elementary," "Boaty McBoatface Elementary School," and "Bleeding Heart Liberal Elementary."
