Condé Nast Traveler readers chose the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem as the seventh-best hotel in the world in its 2015 list of top global hotels, crowning it the best in the Middle East.
The hotel received a score of 97.5 out of 100 from rankings that included input from 128,000 global travelers in the 2015 Readers’ Choice Awards.
“This win is a great honor for the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem and the chain, the hotel employees tourist sector in general,” Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem CEO Guy Kleiman said, noting that it was the first time an Israeli hotel had broken the top-10 list in the 28-year history of the event.
“I am confident that this accomplishment will make waves around the world and bring more tourists to Israel who would not come were it not for international chains that have come to Israel,” he said.
The second-highest Middle East entry was One&Only’s The Palm hotel in Dubai, which ranked No. 11. The top honor went to the Singita Grumeti hotel in Tanzania’s Serengeti.
