Baskin continues to base his arguments on the curious notion that Israelis and Palestinians want peace, but simply "misunderstnad" each other. His example of Sharon/Barak in 2000 is telling: in numerous interviews Barak reaffirmed that he went to Camp David to "unmask" Arafat, i.e. was interested in a new outbreak of violence. Why assume that Sharon's visit to Temple Mount was against Barak, rather than coordinated with him (esp. when we know Barak knew of it ahead of time, approved, etc.)?
