Israel Police officers and IDF soldiers intercepted a drone carrying 12 pistols crossing over the "eastern border" from Jordan, a joint statement confirmed on Sunday.
The air control system in the region identified a drone entering Israeli airspace on Sunday night, the statement noted.
Soldiers from the IDF's 96th Division and Border Police officers in the northern district intercepted and located the drone.
The 12 pistols were seized and transferred to the Israel Police for processing, the military confirmed.
Border Police shoot, arrest aggressor throwing Molotov cocktail in village near Jerusalem
Over the weekend, Jerusalem Border Police shot a terrorist who threw a Molotov cocktail toward the security axis (special path used for patrols) on the “Seam Line” – the border line separating official Israeli territory from the areas of the Palestinian Authority – in the village of Abu Dis that borders Jerusalem. On Friday night, during an anti-terror “ambush operation,” Border Police in the Abu Dis village identified a number of terrorists who threw Molotov cocktails toward the security axis, along which Border Police vehicles routinely travel.
Border Police opened fire on the terrorists, a hit was detected, and one terrorist was shot. The fighters approached the terrorist, provided him with initial medical treatment, and he is being taken for further medical treatment through the Red Cross.
Terrorist assaults female soldier at base in Jordan Valley
This comes after a terrorist broke free from his handcuffs and attacked a female soldier at a base near the Jordan Valley, where he was being detained, the IDF stated on Saturday.
According to the IDF, another soldier initiated an arrest procedure, which included shooting and killing the terrorist.
The wounded soldier was evacuated with minor wounds, and her family was notified.
IDF kills terrorist in Gaza Strip
Israeli security forces in the Gaza Strip struck a group of Gazans who crossed the Yellow Line on Sunday, according to an IDF statement. These individuals, according to the IDF, posed an immediate threat to Israeli forces.
One of the Gazans was killed in the strike, the IDF stated.
