Sixty wanted suspects were arrested across the West Bank on Sunday night, a number that included terrorists who were planning to carry out an attack and individuals affiliated with terrorist organizations.
The IDF, together with the Shin Bet, Border Police, and Israel Police, carried out the arrests. In addition, the Commander of Central Command, Major General Avi Bluth, visited the Command’s emergency storage units with the Human Resources Officer of the Judea and Samaria Division.
With the launch of the operation, the IDF began to mobilize a broad number of reservists across all sectors of the West Bank. To support the extensive mobilization, unit emergency storage facilities were opened.
The Central Command chief spoke with the mobilized reservists and emphasized the importance of their presence and constant readiness. According to the IDF, he ensured they had the necessary equipment and supplies.
Last week's West Bank arrests
The action comes after Jerusalem Border Police and IDF troops detained terrorists in the Aqabat Jaber refugee camp in the West Bank in a joint operation on Wednesday, the Israel Police said at the time.
The operation included a simultaneous attack on two hideout apartments in the camp where the terrorists were hiding.
"The detainees were transferred to the General Security Service for further investigation," the police stated.
