Bernie Sanders, Run as an Independent in 2020

Dear Bernie Sanders,

You got screwed by the Democratic Party in 2016.

You know it, I know it, Debbie Wasserman Schultz knows it, Donna Brazile knows it….you get the point.

So run for president as an independent in 2020.

Hillary Clinton was handed 602 super delegates, had she not the race would have been a lot closer.  People only go to the polls for candidates who they perceive to have a chance of winning (especially young people), therefore you may have won states like California, and the nomination, if it weren’t for this inherent bias.  If you'd received the super delegates she did, you would have won.

According to gateway pundit: “Hillary only won 2,205 delegates but needed 2,382. Sanders had 1,846 delegates.  But Hillary was awarded 602 super delegates to Sanders’ 48.  So, as was stated in the post, “If the situation was reversed and Sanders was given the same number of super delegates as Hillary, Sanders would have won the nomination.”

Hillary Clinton was given the script before the debates.  You outwitted her, but imagine how well you would have done if you had Frank Luntz crafting your answers the week before.  This alone should have disqualified her and made you the nominee.

Donna Brazile, who leaked the questions, showed no sympathy afterwards: ““My conscience — as an activist, a strategist — is very clear, if I had to do it all over again, I would know a hell of a lot more about cybersecurity.”  Is this really a party you want to associate yourself with?

Those incidents are what we do know, imagine what we don’t.

The Democratic Party is in a flux. If you run as an independent, democrats and many others will support you.  The party's are the problem, and your message could appeal to a wider base.

You'd easily get the signatures to get on the ballot in all 50 states and the press coverage to get your message out.  Millions would send in donations both large and small, sending a strong signal to the parties that you stand unequivocally for campaign finance reform and getting special interests out of politics.

Your'e in great health, and you’ll be a strong 78 years old during the campaign.  I watched you speak last week and you looked better than ever.

It's true that you may split the democratic vote and hand a second term to the incumbent already campaigning for 2020.

But if you established this now, you'd run uncontested.  Who would run against Bernie Sanders?

Let’s face it, Americans are struggling.  Despite how the media spins it, we both know that the vast majority of voting Americans love Trump and his actions thus far.  Another establishment Democrat or one with little experience will stand no chance in 2020.

Bernie has a choice, As Jordan Chariton of The Young Turks put it, “Work within a bought-off, completely in-denial Democratic Party, which, after losing to the most unpopular candidate in the history of America, still refuses to sever its ties with Wall Street, big oil, and big pharma, OR, backed by millions of politically reinvigorated working class people, and millennials politically energized for the first time, fight both the corrupt, corporate Democrats and extremist Republicans.”

If you're serious about limiting Donald Trump to one term, you're the only human who can do it.  States like Michigan and Pennsylvania will turn in your favor.  The Democratic party isn't your friend, it’s your and our countries problem (as are the republicans.)  So run as an independent in 2020.

Do it for America; We need you more than ever.
