Of Media Serpents

Something that’s fascinating to consider is that political perfume is often employed not to enhance a good scent, but to mask a vile one. In this case, I am referring to the media machinations of the 45th Vice President of the United States, of the man who served under President Bill Clinton and who fought in Vietnam; I am referring to the spin doctoring issued by Al Gore around a questionable profit he recently realized.
More specifically, that former USA Vice President, the one who sold his American media outlet, Current TV, to Al Jazeera for an estimated half of a billion dollars, and who personally took home a profit of roughly one hundred million from the deal, covered his moral culpability, that is, rationalized his creation of yet another avenue for the communication of terror, by claiming that he wanted to “make the world a better place.” That man, who won a Nobel Peace Prize, and who, as a senator, staunchly stood among a political minority in supporting the Gulf War, remains thick with denial. It is as if, in the interest of riches, he disavowed all of his international, political experience.
Surely, Mr. Gore knew, as did the writer for Exposing the Agenda, that Al Jazeera is “the same network that threw a birthday party for Samir Kuntar, a notorious terrorist [, who] shot an Israeli child''s father in front of her, and then beat her to death with his rifle.” Surely, Mr. Gore realized, as did Howard Kurtz of CNN, as Kurtz stated in “Why Al Gore''s Al Jazeera Deal Doesn''t Seem Right,” that Al Jazeera continues on with its dubious intentions, that it was the network that aired, “during the height of the war on terror… smuggled videos of Osama bin Laden.” It doesn’t take rocket science to grasp that Al Jeezara is a Qatar-funded news agency and an alleged friend to Hamas. Nonetheless, the former Vice President of the United States sold his bandwidth to Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa AlThani, emir of Qatar.
Ironically, Mr. Gore regards himself a person of principles. Ben Shapiro, writing for Frontpagemag.com, in “Current TV Bought by Al Jazeera,” noted that Gore had had “an offer from Glenn Beck to buy Current TV, but according to Beck, he turned it down out of hand on the grounds that the two were philosophically incompatible. He had no such qualms about pocketing $100 million from the Qatar-owned propaganda outlet for America’s terrorist enemies.” Larry Bell, of Forbes, concurred. He wrote, in “Al Gore''s Oil-Fueled Al Jazeera Deal Follows A String Of Green Energy Fiascos,” that  “when Glen Beck’s far-right program, The Blaze, approached Current TV with an interest in purchasing them last year, they were reportedly told that [‘] the legacy of who the network goes to is important to us and we are sensitive to networks not aligned with our point of view.[‘] Besides, selling to fossil fuel-financed Al Jazeera, which apparently is much more aligned with Current’s philosophy, probably provided a lot more green.”
Media pundits’ jabs aside, think about the problem inherent in helping to broadcast the ideals of jihad-intent Islamists. If your imaginations are stuck, refer to the massacre at the Boston Marathon and to the letters, which were recently mailed to Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker and to President Obama and which tested positive for ricin.
It’s less than funny that world-wizened Mr. Gore seems unable to recognize: how unbalanced coverage of Israel and of the USA is problematic, that provocative rhetoric spurs fighting as well as calls up individual incidents of attempted violent coercion, and that aiding the hijacking of popular culture, by people who hate what is good and just, makes him, at best, a fool, at worst, a traitor. Accordingly, Cliff Kinkaid wrote in “Congress Fails to Act Against Gore''s Terror TV Deal,” for American Survival News, “every time that you see a wounded member of the American military, or attend a service for those who died defending America, there is the distinct possibility that the death and destruction was carried out by Jihadists egged on by Al Jazeera. [B]oth Al Jazeera Arabic and Al Jazeera English [are] considered outlets for al-Qaeda propaganda messages.”
More exactingly, as one anonymous writer, who took his data from CIA: The World Fact Book (2007), espoused, on a collaborative fact finding site;
Islamic people pretend to be peaceful but have one goal and that is world domination through Islamization…Their religion encourages them to lie to fool the infidels. They are a plague on society. Islamization occurs when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their so-called “religious rights.” When politically correct and culturally diverse societies agree to “the reasonable” Muslim demands for their “religious rights,” they also get the other components under the table.... As long as the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. In fact, they may be featured in articles and films, stereotyped for their colorful uniqueness.
At 5 % of a population, Muslims “work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves under Sharia, the Islamic Law” at “10% of the population, they will increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions,” “After reaching 20% expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings and church and synagogue burnings” occur. Beyond those numbers, “you may expect unfettered persecution of non-believers and other religions, sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels.”
Whether or not the above claims are entirely or partially true, few people would contest that Islamists: desire, has v’shalom, the obliteration of Israel, use children as human shields and as combatants, are more interested in conquest than in peace, and employ Al Jazeera promotes terrorism. Sure, the Al Jeezera website claimed, in “Cultural Diffusion of News: New Blood in the American News Media,” visa via analyst Dinesh Sharma, that “the introduction of Al Jazeera into American homes can only offer a competitive advantage in a highly networked world that is fractured yet very fluid.” Yet, most folks will look at Sharma’s words as specious.
Most of us scorn blood money and avoid associating with things that are known poisons. Most of us are not Al Gore.
