SCHEPING NACHAS FROM THE CHILDREN –

PALESTINIAN CHILDREN

I’M SO PROUD OF HIM -

Much of what I have to say is excerpted and often paraphrased from articles in the Jerusalem Post, particularly one by the JP staff dated the 24^th of January and an opinion piece dated the 21^st of January by Caroline Glick.

 Today’s reality:

“Since the start of October, Israeli security forces have killed at least 149 Palestinians, 95 of them assailants according to authorities. Most of the others have died in violent protests. Almost daily stabbings, shootings and car-ramming attacks by Palestinians have killed 25 Israelis and a U.S. citizen.  Many of the Palestinian assailants have been teenagers”.

Daily occurrences of killings, stabbings and violent protests have become our everyday reality.

In a Jerusalem Post opinion piece dated the 21^st of January, Caroline Glick begins her editorial with a quote from the father of Murad Adais.  

“I’m proud of him.”

Several days before, on the 17^th of January, 16 year old Murad Adais butchered a 39 year old woman, Dafna Meir in her home, in front of three of her six children.

 “I’m proud of him.”…was what the father of Dafna Meir’s murderer said when the Palestinian media asked him what he thinks of his cold-blooded son. 

 Dafna was a nurse specializing in the halakhic aspects of gynecological healthcare. She ran clinics in Otniel and Be'er Sheva, worked as a nurse in the Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva, and wrote a blog on women's issues.  Two of her six children are foster children.

 Israel is under a coordinated assault by the Palestinians who hate us.

Our officials should direct their remarks against Palestinian society as a whole. a sick society that seeks to annihilate Israel, applauds barbarism and kills Israeli Jews who just wish to live in peace.

 Glick for her part takes the government to task for accepting the false claim that the Palestinian terrorist onslaught is being carried out by lone wolves.  But to the contrary, it seems the more murderous an attack, the more it is supported by the Palestinian community, not just now, but over recent history.  This support by the Palestinian community is a reflection of the murderous hatred that the vast majority of Palestinians feel toward Israelis and Israel. The so-called lone wolves in actuality are only a barbaric instrument of the Palestinian community at large.

 Traditionally, Jews put great emphasis on intellectual accomplishments.  The stereotype that has come down to us is a scholar, a doctor, a PhD, or an attorney. Here in Israel where public service, including two to three years in the military and personal sacrifice are the order of the day the outlook is somewhat different. 

 But differences aside, nowhere is there to be seen or heard a Jewish parent whose child has committed a heinous act of violence standing up and saying:

“I’m proud of him”.
