5.8-magnitude earthquake strikes Costa Rica

WASHINGTON - A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Costa Rica on Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said.

The quake hit 27 miles (34 km) south-southeast of Liberia, Costa Rica, at a depth of 5.8 miles (9 km), the survey said.
