Abbas: As long as settlement building continues there will be no negotiations

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said Friday that should Israel not renew its money transfer to the Palestinians, the PA will take "harsh steps," according to Israel Radio.

The nature of these "steps" was not mentioned.

Abbas said that most Palestinians believe that the road to peace lies in negotiations, which are not possible should settlement construction continue.

According to Israel Radio, Abbas expressed these concerns at the end of a meeting with Luxembourg's minister of foreign affairs.
