Abbas meets with Kerry in Istanbul to discuss peace talks

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas met with US Secretary of State John Kerry on Sunday in Istanbul in an effort to get Middle East peace talks moving, the Hurriyet Daily News reported.

The two will "continue the conversation that they've been having for several weeks now about how to get both sides back to the table," a US State Department official was quoted as saying.

Abbas spent the past weekend in Turkey meeting with official including Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan.
