Amnesty International is demanding on Friday that the United Nations commission an independent panel to investigate possible war crimes by both Israel and Hamas.

The organization released a statement urging the UN to investigate "violations committed on all sides amidst ongoing Israeli air strikes across the Gaza Strip and continuing volleys of indiscriminate rocket fire from Palestinian armed groups into Israel."
