Defense Ministry Diplomatic-Security chief Amos Gilad on Monday said Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime is in full control of its non-conventional weapon stocks, Army Radio reported.

Gilad told Army Radio that although the chemical weapons are secure, Israel must "keep vigilant" and watch developments closely in light of deepening instability in Syria.

He added that Israel would be able to act if necessary.
