Ban, Ahmadinejad meet, discuss Syria, nuclear program

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon met with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on the sidelines of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Thursday, discussing with him the situation in Syria, AFP reported.

The leaders also discussed Iran's nuclear program, AFP quoted UN spokesman Martin Nesirky as saying.

He fave no further details of the meeting.
