Defense Minister Ehud Barak came out against the prospect of the government adopting the Levy Report on settlement construction on Wednesday, saying that doing so would not strengthen West Bank settlements.
"Adopting the Edmund Levy Report by the government would do the opposite of what its supporters expect," Barak said.
If the government were to adopt the report's recommendations, he explained, it "would not contribute to strengthening settlements in the West Bank, but would (cause) diplomatic damage to Israel and deepen its isolation in the world."
