IAF strikes target in Gaza; at least 1 seriously injured

The Israel Air Force Tuesday afternoon conducted an airstrike in the central Gaza Strip, seriously wounding at least one Palestinian, after terrorists fired eight rockets into Israel within a one-hour span.

The IDF said military aircraft targeted a squad of terrorists who were responsible for the latest rocket fire and that it recorded a hit.

The recent escalation came as Hamas claimed responsibility for at least some of the rocket fire into Israel, marking a significant departure from its previous position whereby it refrained from launching rockets itself.
