Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei receives emir of Kuwait

Kuwait's emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah, on a two-day visit to Iran, on Monday was received by Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.

Sheikh Sabah is the first ruler of the US-allied Gulf Arab state visiting Iran since the 1979 Islamic revolution, underscoring improving ties between Tehran and its Arab neighbors.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani was also present at the meeting.
