As part of an initiative to improve train transportation to and from Jerusalem, the Transportation Ministry is building the nation’s highest bridge over the Cedar Valley to connect the capital with Tel Aviv.
Construction began this week on the 100 meter-high bridge, which will connect two recently completed tunnels.
Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz said the new rail line is the ministry’s largest and most complex undertaking, and should be completed by 2017.
