MK Regev calls for probe on sources of funding for migrants' protest

Knesset Interior Committee chairwoman Miri Regev (Likud Beytenu) sent a letter to Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein Wednesday night, demanding that he investigate the sources of funding for the recent migrants' demonstration against state policy, which she called "subversive activity."
"In recent months I see activity by organizations dealing with illegal infiltrators, some of which call themselves human rights organizations to hide that they are acting to disrupt public order," Regev stated. "It seems that these supposedly innocent organizations are funded by extremists who want to stir up trouble and subvert the State of Israel."
The demonstrations of recent days seem to be funded by such organizations that "threaten and incite against the Jewish and democratic character of the State of Israel," the Likud Beytenu MK added.
As such, Regev asked Weinstein to probe the sources of the organizations' funding and their involvement in planning migrants' demonstrations, which "ridicule the law enforcement system."
