MK Shai: Knesset must discuss efforts to free Pollard

The Knesset must express the wide consensus in favor of freeing Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard from prison in the US, MK Nachman Shai (Labor) wrote in a letter to temporary Knesset Speaker Binyamin Ben-Eliezer Tuesday.
Shai asked Ben-Eliezer to put the matter on the Knesset's agenda ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit next month.
"We need a broad, intensive public effort to free Pollard," Shai wrote. "It is our duty as MKs to give a platform to the major efforts in Israel and abroad to free him soon."
