North Korea cites Obama requests in freeing American prisoner

SEOUL - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un released Jeffrey Fowle, one of three Americans detained by the country, "taking into consideration the repeated requests of US President Obama," Pyongyang's state KCNA news agency said on Wednesday.
Fowle, 56, was arrested in May for leaving a Bible at a sailor's club in the North Korean city of Chongjin, where he was traveling as a tourist, and was unexpectedly freed on Tuesday.
