Protesters in Beirut call for Lebanese patriarch to apologize for Israel trip

Dozens of demonstrators marched in Beirut on Saturday to protests the head of Lebanon’s Maronite Church, Patriarch Beshara Rai's visit to Israel last month during the pope's Holy Land pilgrimage.

The protesters called for Rai to apologize for his visit and his meetings with former South Lebanon Army soldiers and their relatives, whom Hezbollah has labeled as " Israeli agents," Lebanese newspaper The Daily Star reported.
