Ramat HaSharon man suspected of murdering wife a month after she submitted complaints against him

A Ramat HaSharon man is suspected of murdering his wife in their apartment on Wednesday morning, less than a month after she submitted a police complaint against him, fearing for her safety.
Tel Aviv police said around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday they received a call from the son of the couple, who told them that his father had just called and told him that he had hurt his mother. When they arrived at the scene, police found the woman, aged 67, lying in the entry of the home with wounds to her upper body.
Paramedics who entered the house with police ruled the woman dead at the scene. The husband, aged 79, was treated for light injuries suffered by a cut to one of his arms, and police suspect that he murdered his wife and then tried and failed to take his own life.
A Tel Aviv police spokesman said they are still working to determine if the woman died from bludgeoning or was stabbed to death.
Police confirmed Wednesday that in November, the woman submitted two police complaints against her husband, and also secured a restraining order against him. They added that the husband was questioned at the time and that police handed over the findings of their investigation to prosecutors.
During a recent court hearing, the couple agreed that the husband could stay in the residence, and that the two would sleep in separate rooms, police added.
