Road 12 reopened after high alert following border attack

Almost a week after a deadly terror attack from the Sinai Peninsula, the IDF decided Sunday to lower the level of alert along the Egyptian border and to reopen Road 12.
Last Monday, a civilian construction worker was killed in a cross border attack near Kadesh Barnea when a number of terrorists - believed to be part of a global jihad group based in the Gaza Strip - crossed into Israel from the Sinai.
Following the attack, the IDF decided to immediately close Road 12 which runs along the border to civilian traffic out of fear that terrorists based in Gaza and the Sinai were plotting additional attacks along the border.
