Store owner shot dead in doorway of his business near Nazareth

A 75-year-old man from the village of Iksal outside Nazareth was gunned down in the doorway of his store in the village on Friday, Norther District police said.
The shooter arrived at the scene on foot, opened fire with an automatic weapon and fled before police arrived. By Saturday night police said no arrests had been made but that there were several different motives they are looking into.
They added that the victim was not known to police.
Elsewhere in the district on Friday, a 25-year-old man was found dead in a torched car in a landfill next to Kafr Manda. The man is not known to police and is still unclear the exact cause of death or if he was murdered or took his own life.
Both that man’s body and that of the victim from Iksal will be taken to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute for autopsies, police said.
On Saturday, police in the Sharon subdistrict reported that a 70-year-old woman was found dead in her apartment in Petah Tikva. Police arrested a woman who was at  the apartment at the time that the woman died, but said that as of Saturday evening they had not determined the cause of death.
