Turkish military says clashes with Kurdish militants in southeast

ISTANBUL- The Turkish military exchanged fire with Kurdish rebels in southeast Turkey on Wednesday in a rare violation of a two-year old ceasefire, part of a peace process between the militants and Ankara.
The clash occurred four days after jailed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Ocalan said the group's 30-year insurgency against Turkey had become "unsustainable" and urged it to hold a congress on laying down its weapons.
