Work dispute announced for radiology and scanning technicians across Israel

The Histadrut-General Labor Federation declared a work dispute on Wednesday on behalf of 1,200 x-ray and imaging technicians around the country. The union is protesting against “the way they are employed that harms their collective agreement and harm to their conditions as a result of inadequate manpower.”
Many are hired not as regular employees of hospitals and clinics but as workers of “research funds” that entails fewer benefits and less job security.
The employees also said their conditions have declined due to a manpower shortage and overwork and their constant exposure to rays that “endanger their health.” The work dispute gives them the right to apply sanctions or strike in a few weeks.
