NEW YORK – The Anti-Defamation League received an anonymous bomb threat to its national headquarters in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday.According to the organization, after a careful investigation and cooperation with police, police determined that the threat was not credible.“While there is no information at this time to indicate that this is more than a threat, we are taking it very seriously and working closely with law enforcement officials to determine if it is connected to similar threats against Jewish institutions across the country,” ADL CEO Jonathan A. Greenblatt said in a statement.The threat came in by phone and is believed to be similar to the calls that Jewish community centers across the country have received.He noted that this is not the first time that the ADL has been targeted by such threats and said “it will not deter [the group] in our efforts to combat antisemitism and hate against people of all races and religions.”Over the past month, over a dozen Jewish community centers across the United States were targeted by bomb threats multiple times. The centers were evacuated each time, and the threats were found to be false alarms.
