A suicide bomber from a far-left group killed a Turkish security guard at the US embassy in Ankara on Friday, blowing the door off a side entrance and sending smoke and debris flying into the street.

Israel's ambassador to the US Michael B. Oren also condemned the "horrific" attack. "Such malicious aggression reminds us of the risks taken by those who represent us abroad and of the viciousness of those who hate liberty and life," he wrote on his Facebook page. "We send our deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and the American people."

Israel has had to cope with suicide bomb attacks for decades after Palestinian terrorists adopted the strategy to target Israeli civilians.
