Cabinet ministers addressed on Sunday the recent spike in rocket fire and the possibility of a military operation in the Gaza Strip. Speaking on his way to a cabinet meeting, Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz told Israel Radio that Israel cannot accept Iranian and Hamas missile bases in the Strip and will be forced to act militarily in Gaza sooner or later.Interior Minister Eli Yishai said that there will be no way around military action if the attacks continue.RELATED:Hamas sets up rocket production line in SinaiIDF top brass meets over ongoing Gaza rocket fireThe IAF struck targets in Gaza on Saturday after eighteen rockets were fired into Israel over the weekend. Two palestinians were reportedly wounded in the strike.
The strike came after terrorists fired four rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israel Saturday morning, Army Radio reported. Two rockets exploded in an open area of the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council after two earlier rockets were fired into the Eshkol Regional Council area .
