Bennett said at a Bnei Brak event that there are 1.2 million people with disabilities in Israel, and that the state has been failing to integrate them into society.
"Over the years, Ofer has been a partner in the journey. He acted with great professionalism and dedication, with full commitment and discretion," Prime Minister Netanyahu said about Golan.
The campaign serves as a reference to a 2019 campaign by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ruling Likud party that targeted journalists.
“Gali Baharav-Miara wants to take your voice from you,” Ben-Gvir said at a press conference outside the High Court before the hearing began.
The group, “Katef el Katef” (Shoulder to Shoulder), said in a joint statement with the party that it views Bennett’s platform as a natural political home for advancing its goals.
The High Court ordered last month that the Finance Committee reconvene and hold a fresh deliberation on the matter before voting to approve the transfer of the funds.
The hearing will be held before an expanded nine-justice panel and, in an unusual procedural step, will be broadcast live while closed to the public because of concern over disruptions.
The petition was filed after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved Gofman’s appointment, after he cleared the Senior Appointments Advisory Committee, and ahead of his scheduled June 2 entry.
The trial remains deep in the testimony phase in Cases 1000, 2000, and 4000, with Case 4000 emerging as one of the defining legal and political sagas of Netanyahu’s era.
In the most recent Lazar Research survey, conducted on April 9, Bennett 2026 polled at 24 seats, just one behind Likud's 25, with the opposition bloc holding a 61-seat majority.
Keren Terner had served as director-general of the Communications Ministry, and Liran Avisar Ben Horin served as director-general of both the Finance and Transportation Ministries.
