The Jerusalem Post is
hosting a live video feed. Hosted by President Shimon Peres, the June
19-21 conference has attracted over 3,500 people from around the
world. Speakers will address a wide array of pertinent issues,
including: the "Arab Spring," the future of the Middle East, the impact
of the global economic crisis, the US role in the international
community, social justice protests and leading developments in the field
of technology.
The event boasts a number of panels and plenary sessions, with speeches
from Peres, Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman, Defense Minister Ehud
Barak, former IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi, former Mossad chief
Meir Dagan, Bank of Israel Governor Stanley Fischer, Jewish Agency
Chairman Natan Sharansky, Middle East envoy Tony Blair, and former US
Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.
During the
opening plenary Tuesday night Peres presented Henry Kissinger with the Presidential Award for Distinction, after which the former US secretary of state spoke about peace and the Iranian threat.
