And while Israel Radio reported that only one woman was killed from amongst the tourists in the accident, it was still too early to determine if there were others who also died as a result of the collision.
The embassy in Tbilisi was in touch with rescue forces and the Foreign Ministry was keeping in contact with the tourists' families in Israel.
In April of this year two Israeli tourists died in Bolivia when their jeep overturned in the Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest salt flat, in southwest Bolivia.
The Bolivian driver of the vehicle was also killed.
