US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will meet with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu during his visit to the US next week, Reuters reported on Thursday.Speaking at a press conference in New Zealand, Clinton confirmed, "I do intend to see Prime Minister Netanyahu when he is in the United States."RELATED:Hillary Clinton: 'Obama is a steady captain of the ship' Israel dismisses talk of a Bill Clinton return to diplomacyAddressing the peace process, she said, "We are working on a non-stop basis with our Israeli and Palestinian friends to design a way forward." The secretary added, "I am very involved in finding the way forward and I think that we will be able to do so," according to the report.The American-brokered peace process has been stalled since the settlement construction moratorium expired in late September. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has refused to resume negotiations until Israel renews the building freeze, something Netanyahu has so far refused to do.
The US has been working to bring the parties back to the negotiating table. There has been wide speculation that any major push by the Obama administration would only come after Tuesday's midterm congressional elections, raising expectations for the Clinton-Netanyahu meeting.US President Barack Obama said earlier in the week that he would not be meeting with Netanyahu - who is visiting the US to attend the Jewish Federation General Assembly taking place in New Orleans - because he will be traveling in Asia.
