Yad Vashem slams Holocaust-denying cartoons

Iranian website features caricatures depicting Shoah as a fabrication.

A new Iranian Web site featuring cartoons saying the Holocaust came never happened came under fire from Yad Vashem on Thursday.
The site, (holocartoons.com), features caricatures including a Jew with a hooked nose and a black hat emblazoned with a Star of David tracing fake bodies on the ground at a concentration camp.

Reportedly financed by a cultural foundation, the Web site is not government-affiliated, and is based mainly on a book of cartoons first published in 2008.
Its creators say that they intend to show the world that the Holocaust has been entirely fabricated by the Jews, who have used it to their advantage ever since.
The site is presented as a book. It uses Nazi imagery, with the icon for flipping pages marked with a swastika.
The first page outlines the site’s mission, “to denounce the conspicuous lie of the planned murder of 6 million Jews during the Second World War allegedly called ‘Holocaust.’” It continues, calling the Holocaust “The lie by which the Palestine occupier Zionists have justified their occupying of Palestine and lots of their crimes for years.”
“The vulgar and cynical approach of the Web site, a combination of Holocaust denial and distortion, illustrated with anti-Semitic caricatures, further illustrates Iran’s disregard for reality and truth vis-à-vis the Holocaust, Jews and Israel,” Yad Vashem said in a statement.
It highlighted its Farsi-language Web site, accessible at www.yadvashem.org and aimed at providing “comprehensive, credible information about the history of the Holocaust to anyone interested in learning the truth.”
