Nick Cave, Pond on the way to Israel

Cave’s new acclaimed 16th album, The Skeleton Tree, is his first since his 15-year-old son Arthur fell off a cliff to his death in 2015.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be considering scrapping his upcoming trip to Australia, but the feeling isn’t mutual for two of Australia’s most sterling musical imports – Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Pond.
Legendary singer/songwriter Cave will be returning to Israel for the fourth time this summer, according to an announcement released by promoter Shuki Weiss. A date and venue have not been finalized. Cave last performed here in 1998.

Cave’s return to Israel will be complemented by the debut performance of one of Australia’s notable indie rock bands, Pond, who will be performing on June 13 at the Barby Club in Tel Aviv.
The heralded Perth-based band is an offshoot of Aussie superstars Tame Impala, who played before a sold-out Live Park in Rishon Lezion last summer.
Pond and Tame Impala share members Jay Watson and Nick Allbrook and its albums are produced by Tame frontman Kevin Parker. Promoting their latest album, The Weather, the band will move on from Tel Aviv to high-profile summer shows at the Primavera and Coachella festivals.
