1. SNATCHED UP
In the new thriller film Kidnap, a typical afternoon in the park turns into a nightmare for a single mother when her son suddenly disappears. Without a cellphone and knowing she has no time to wait for police help, she jumps into her car and sets off in pursuit of the kidnappers. With Halle Berry, Lew Temple.
2. CONFIDENT IN COMEDY
Last year’s hit HBO comedy series Insecure returns for a second season. Created and starring Issa Rae, the TV show follows two young African-American women navigating work, friendship and love in Los Angeles. With Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis.

3. AROUND THE BLOCK
Looking for some air-conditioned fun for the whole family? Lego Park returns this summer. Thousands of Lego bricks await visitors at the Toto Stadium in Holon. The park includes unique attractions, a Ferris wheel, pirate ship, maze, Lego Star Wars, Lego statues, Xbox stations and an area where kids can play with a large quantity of Lego pieces.

4. NO NEED TO BE BLUE
The much acclaimed Blue Man Group, who have taken the world by storm over the past few years, are coming to Israel as part of their Megastar world tour. These bald, blue and crazy performers play an assortment of items, from tubes and aluminum pipes to drums and simple strings. In addition to their own original songs, they feature covers of versions of rockers such as Ozzy Osbourne and The Who.

5. TOSCA IN THE PARK
The Israeli Opera renews its tradition of Opera in the Park with a free, fully staged performance of Puccini’s Tosca in Tel Aviv’s Yarkon Park. Conducted by Yishai Steckler, Puccini’s tear-jerker will include the Israeli Opera Chorus. The opera will be performed in Italian with Hebrew surtitles.

The Tel Aviv Museum of Art once again hosts Thursdays at T. Every Thursday in August from 9 p.m. to midnight, entrance to the museum is free.
During the Thursdays at T evenings, the museum provides a variety of activities such as exhibition tours, lectures, video art, music and workshops.

7. UP IN THE AIR The International Hot Air Balloon Festival is taking place in the Galilee, with a host of activities for the whole family. These include acrobatics, fire shows, balloon flying and concerts, as well as a special GLOW event each night, which involves the fiery hot air balloons lighting up the sky.

8. PUPPETS ON A STRING The 26th International Festival of Puppet Theater is an annual event organized by the Train Theater in Jerusalem. This summer, the First Station is hosting the festival, which welcomes many internationally renowned puppetry and visual theater artists, as well as up-and-coming ones. Highlights include Israel’s Gulliver – The Journey to Lilliput and Germany’s The Three Monkeys. Performances take place at a number of cultural institutions in Jerusalem, as well as street performances.

9. BIG TOP ANTICS
The thrilling Fantasy Circus comes to the roof of Tel Aviv’s Azrieli Center for two weeks. The performance features water acrobatics, fire juggling, death-defying daredevils, aerial artists, balancers and much more.

10. REGINA REIGNS
Indie-pop’s lovable eccentric singer/songwriter Regina Spektor returns to Israel for a show on August 19 at Amphi Park in Ra’anana. Over the course of six albums, the Russian/American/ Jewish songstress has established herself as one of contemporary music’s most original writers and performers. Her public profile entered the mainstream after she performed “You’ve Got Time,” the theme song of the popular TV series Orange Is the New Black.
