The US Embassy in Israel, headed by US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, enjoyed a traditional holiday meal in a humorous video released this week ahead of the new Jewish year.
In the video embassy staff members can be seen sinking their teeth into some famed, trademark Rosh Hashana dishes such as the infamously spicy horseradish or the gefilte fish that some of the diplomats tasted for the first time in their lives (which prompted them to laughingly note that the dish's jelly-like and gray appearance did not look particularly appetizing).
They wished Jews in Israel, in the US and all over the world a happy holiday and a Shana Tova (happy new year), cracking jokes in a video that pointed at the warm relations between Israel and the US just as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with US President Donald Trump in New York for the United Nations General Assembly 72nd session.
